Farrer by-election

If you are scheduled to attend your citizenship ceremony between Wednesday 01 April 2026 and Saturday 09 May 2026, and live in the Division of Farrer, then you can complete the provisional enrolment form to enrol as a new citizen ahead of the by-election.

Your completed form must be received by Wednesday 8 April at 8pm local time.

To enrol, you must

  • Be 18 years of age or older,
  • Be an Australian citizen, and
  • Have lived at your address for at least one month.

You can enrol now if you are 16 or 17 years of age, then you'll be ready to vote when you turn 18.

To enrol or change your details, you will need

  • Your driver’s licence, or
  • Australian passport number, or
  • Medicare card number, or
  • Australian citizenship number, or
  • Have someone who is enrolled verify who you are.
