New South Wales
Named after Governor Lachlan Macquarie (1761–1824), Governor of New South Wales (1810–1821).
It covers an area of approximately 4197 sq km from the Hawkesbury River in the east, the Wollemi and Yengo National Parks in the north and the Blue Mountains in the west.
The main towns include Blackheath, Katoomba, Kurrajong, Mount Victoria, Richmond, Springwood, Wentworth Falls and Windsor.
Wool, fat lambs, cattle, timber-milling, tourism, orchards, dairying, turf farming, mushroom farming, market gardens, arts & crafts, poultry farming, horse breeding & training, small manufacturers and the Richmond RAAF Base.
