Creating a myID
myID is the Australian Government’s Digital ID app. Download the myID app to your smart device to prove who you are when accessing government online services like AEC EmployMe. myID is different to a myGov account.
Setting up your myID
To access AEC EmployMe you will need a myID with at least a Basic identity strength.
Set up your Basic myID in two steps:

Download the myID app from Google Play or the App Store to your compatible smart device.
Note: Only download the myID app from the official app stores listed above. Non-genuine versions of the myID app may be available from other sources.

Enter your details - open the myID app and follow the prompts to enter your full name, date of birth and personal email address.

How to log in to AEC EmployMe using myID

Select Continue with Digital ID.

Select myID as your Identity Provider.

Enter your myID email address. You can select ‘Remember me’ to login faster when using the same device and browser in future, meaning that for future logins you won’t need to enter your email and the 4-digit code will be pre-filled in your app.

A four-digit code will appear on the login screen.

Log into your myID app using your 10-character password, fingerprint or face.
Tip: to login faster, you can enable fingerprint or face in Settings in your myID app.

Enter or accept the 4-digit code in your myID app.

Go back to AEC EmployMe to provide consent to sharing the information outlined on screen. Only a small amount of your information is passed to the service you want to access. Usually this is limited to your name, date of birth and contact details.
