Electoral Integrity Framework

Updated: 11 June 2015

In 2014 the then Acting Electoral Commissioner, Mr Tom Rogers, directed the creation of the Electoral Integrity Unit (EIU). The EIU was given a broad agenda to identify opportunities to enhance integrity in the AEC's practices, processes and policies.

The Electoral Commissioner has now approved the Electoral Integrity Framework, which will support the work of the EIU as it identifies opportunities to enhance integrity in the AEC's practices, procedures and policies.

The Framework provides that the AEC's enduring commitment to integrity is based on the four elements of integrity: accuracy, completeness, entitlement and capability. It is a cornerstone document for the AEC and is intended to positively frame the ongoing work of the EIU. It affirms the AEC's enduring commitment to integrity in every facet of our operations.
