Deadline for objections to Queensland Federal Electoral Redistribution Proposal

15 September 2003

The Australian Electoral Officer for Queensland, Ms Anne Bright, today reminded all interested individuals and organisations that written objections to the proposed redistribution of Queensland Federal Electoral Boundaries must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee by 6.00pm next Friday 19 September 2003.

" The redrawing of the Queensland federal electoral boundaries has been, and continues to be, a consultative process to ensure that each of Queensland's electoral divisions has, as near as possible, the same number of electors," Ms Bright said.

"The AEC provides a range of information regarding the redistribution process which may be obtained via the AEC website www.aec.gov.au or from the AEC's Brisbane office on (07) 3834 3488," she said.

"Individuals and organisations are welcome to lodge any objections to the proposed redistribution of Queensland's Federal Electoral Divisions to the Redistribution Committee for Queensland, 7th Floor, Collection House, 488 Queen Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 by 6.00pm on Friday 19 September 2003" Ms Bright said.
