The by-election for the federal electoral Division of Bennelong will be held on Saturday 16 December 2017.
Australian Electoral Officer for New South Wales, Warwick Austin said people living in the Division of Bennelong must act now to ensure they are correctly enrolled.
“All Australian citizens aged 18 years and over living in the Division of Bennelong are required by law to enrol and vote in the by-election on Saturday 16 December 2017,” Mr Austin said.
“Bennelong electors who won’t be able to make it to a polling place on by-election day may be eligible to cast an early vote from Tuesday 28 November, either in person or via post,” Mr Austin said.
“Postal vote applications can be submitted now.”
People who are unsure if they are living in the Division of Bennelong or if their enrolment details are up to date can check online, or call 13 23 26.
The AEC must have received your completed enrolment form before 8pm AEDT on Monday 20 November or you won’t be able to vote in the Bennelong by-election.
Seventeen year-old Australians who live in Bennelong and turn eighteen on or before Saturday 16 December 2017 can enrol now and vote in the Bennelong by-election.
