Steps in the redistribution

An inquiry is being held into objections to the proposed redistribution of electoral divisions in Tasmania, as outlined in a report published by the Redistribution Committee for Tasmania on 5 May 2017.

At an inquiry, individuals or organisations may address the augmented Electoral Commission for Tasmania on any matter raised in an objection to the proposed redistribution of Tasmania or in a comment on these objections.
Matters raised in objections and comments on objections include the:

  • electoral division in which the following be located:
    • the City of Hobart, City of Clarence, City of Glenorchy, Municipality of Dorset, Municipality of Flinders, Municipality of Latrobe, Municipality of Huon Valley, Municipality of Kingborough, Municipality of Meander Valley, and Municipality of West Tamar

  • whether the boundaries of the Division of Bass should be altered
  • name of the proposed Division of Denison
  • name of the proposed Division of Franklin.
