Last days to update address for the Gippsland by-election

Next Tuesday 27 May is the last day for Australian citizens already on the electoral roll to update their address details in time for the Gippsland by-election, to be held on Saturday 28 June 2008”, said the Divisional Returning Officer for Gippsland, Mr David Wakely.

“If you’re already on the electoral roll but need to update your address details, you must complete an enrolment form and return it to one of our offices by 8 pm next Tuesday, 27 May 2008”, Mr Wakely said.

 “If you have recently moved into the electoral division of Gippsland you need to make sure you complete a new enrolment form so that you can vote in this by-election”, he said.

You can then:

  • send your form by fax to (03) 5144 5932;
  • scan and email it to GIPPSLAND@aec.gov.au;
  • deliver your form directly to our local AEC office at 91 Raymond Street, Sale; or
  • post your completed enrolment form to Locked Bag 2001, Sale, 3853.

Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au and are available at any Australia Post outlet or AEC office and also at any Medicare office, Australian Tax Office, Centrelink office and selected Rural Transaction Centres including those located at Heyfield, Bendoc and Cann River.
