Youth study examines links between attitudes to political parties and intention to vote
The fourth report in the Youth Electoral Study, examining the knowledge and attitudes of young Australians to political parties, is the latest report to be released in the longitudinal study being conducted by the University of Sydney and the Australian National University (ANU), and supported by the Australian Electoral Commission and the Australian Research Council.
Researchers conducting large-scale surveys with around 5,000 senior secondary school students across Australia and group interviews with students in 16 electoral divisions, released the fourth report expanding on the findings of the previous three reports released in December 2004, October 2005 and November 2006.
The fourth report focuses on the knowledge and attitudes of Australian adolescents about political parties and whether these attitudes have a relationship with their intention to vote.
The fourth report, along with all the previous reports in the Youth Electoral Study series, are available on the AEC website.
