25 March 2008

The Australian Electoral Officer (State Manager) for Western Australia, Mr Colin Nagle, today reminded all interested individuals and organisations that written suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee for Western Australia by 6pm Friday 28 March 2008.

"The redrawing of the Western Australia federal electoral boundaries is a consultative process that is being undertaken to ensure that each of Western Australia’s electoral divisions has, as near as possible, the same number of electors," Mr Nagle said.

Mr Nagle also said the AEC provided a range of information to assist individuals and organisations to develop their suggestions.

"This information is available on the AEC website www.aec.gov.au or from the AEC’s Perth office on 08 6363 8080," he said.

Suggestions must be lodged with the Redistribution Committee by 6.00pm on Friday 28 March 2008 in one of the following ways:

  • in person to Level 3, 111 St Georges Terrace, Perth, WA 6000
  • by mail to GPO Box 9867, Perth, WA 6848
  • by facsimile to 08 6363 8019
  • by email to wa.redistribution@aec.gov.au
